On Nov. 25, 2007, a batch of high quality SBS modified asphalt of DONGHAI brand made by SINOPEC CHANGLING REFINERY, was carried from Yueyang city, Hunan province to Bird’s nest building site- main Olympic stadium in Beijing, and used in basic construction of Bird’s nest course.  With the help of Mr. Young, expert from DALWORTH, and the technicians from BEIJING AMERTECH MACHINERY & EQUIOMENT CO., LTD., CHANGLING REFINERY produced the first batch of DONGHAI modified asphalt on Sep.20, 2007, and soon the asphalt was approved by the market.

After the modifiers are added to the asphalt, the modified asphalt comes into being, and its properties of high or low temperature resistant, strength and toughness can be greatly improved. Under about 40℃, asphalt will melt and become sticky, after being modified the asphalt can bear 55℃. The batch of asphalt for Olympic construction can even tolerate the high temperature of 70℃.
